Hundreds of wildflower specimens drew a steady stream of visitors to the 93rd Busselton Wildflower Exhibition, held from Thursday 4 to Friday 5 October.
The exhibition provides wildflower enthusiasts an opportunity to learn more about the local varieties with advice from botanists on site or visitors can just enjoy the sights and smells of the exhibition as they wander through the exhibition.
Organisers said the exhibition attracted visitors from all over Australia and overseas to the two days at Busselton Uniting Church.
Ruth Flowers, Exhibition Committee Secretary, said approximately 320 specimens delighted everyone.
She said the bush surprised the licensed pickers who collated the specimens for the exhibition with some wildflower varieties almost finished, while others were still beautiful in their level of colour and growth.
“To be out in the bush is a great privilege and we respect our task,” Ruth said.
“Our annual delight is seeing the video presentation by a most senior and passionate bushman here – a delightful snapshot of orchids found around this area.”
The Geographe Community Landcare Nursery and Geocatch Catchment Group teams were on hand to advise on native plantings and waterwise gardening.
“We as a committee, along with a great team of volunteers, working together – have been truly blessed,” Ruth said.
