UnitingCare West has today entered its next phase of growth and is now trading as Uniting WA.
Becoming Uniting is more than just having a new logo and look – it’s about clarifying and embracing the very essence of who the organisation is. The name has changed, but the important work they do for the West Australian community remains the same.
Uniting exists to inspire people, enliven communities and confront injustice.
They stand for a just society and are working hard to address the causes of vulnerability and disadvantage, so people and communities are more valued and connected.
Uniting WA Board Chairperson Erica Haddon says it’s a natural progression for the organisation.
“Our evolution to Uniting represents our maturity as an organisation, and the progress we’ve made in 14 years of community service.
“We’re well established in WA, and this move will only strengthen our ability to affect real and lasting change for the most vulnerable members of our community”, said Erica.
The Uniting brand is shared by Uniting NSW.ACT and Uniting Vic.Tas – a demonstration of unity and collaboration among three separate yet connected agencies.
Uniting WA CEO Amanda Hunt sees this as an opportunity to draw closer ties with the Uniting family nationally while retaining our proud history.
“The legacy of those who confronted injustice and gave so much to the formation of our organisation in 2006 will always live on through Uniting,” she said.
“The move to Uniting helps us to be more visible to the people who need our support, and to increase the impact of our work.
“It’s an incredibly exciting time for Uniting, but we remain ever focused on the difficult work ahead in tackling the aftermath of COVID-19”, said Amanda.
