Susy Thomas, Moderator of the Uniting Church WA, was presented with a Shakti Award this morning by the Indian Society of WA, celebrating International Women’s Day.
The Shakti Award is for women in leadership, achieving an equal future in a COVID-19 world.
Susy was presented with the award for “Outstanding effort in achieving success as a woman leader, being an exemplar for the next generations of women and striving towards an equal opportunities world.”
Thirty-six people were nominated for the award, with more than 2000 people present, including political leaders, the Indian High Commissioner, Consulate General and other leading WA community leaders.
