Peter Thomson, who passed away on 18 January 2019, was a significant contributor to the life of the Uniting Church WA over a long period.
Peter’s contribution has been many, varied and consistent. Parish Secretary, Church Councillor, Trustee member, Secretary Presbytery, Synod Standing Committee, Chairperson Synod Property Board and member of Synod Resources Board to name a few.
Peter was employed by the Uniting Church WA from 1985 to 2003 working in roles of parish administrator, Synod Property Development Fund Office and Synod Property Manager. He often would only accept a part time remuneration whilst contributing far in excess.
Peter also contributed to his community, serving as a Ward Councillor and being involved in committees and associations.
Peter became a member of Trinity Congregational Church in February 1969 and was elected to Diaconate in 1970.
Peter was a devoted family man with his wife Ann and sons David and Christopher and their families. He will be sadly missed and we acknowledge his service to the church.
