Renew your passion at Passing the Baton

Passing the Baton, an annual training day and expo for people involved in children and family ministry, is coming up soon on Saturday 23 February, 9.00am to 4.00pm, at Mt Pleasant Baptist Church.

Passing the Baton is an ecumenical event organised by the Children’s Ministry Network (CMN), of which the Uniting Church in Australia is a member.

The event will be a great resource for anyone involved in children and family ministry, including through camps, holiday programs, youth groups, Boys or Girls Brigade, children’s church or school chaplaincy. It aims to inspire attendees and renew their commitment to ministry with new ideas, new resources, new skills and networking.

This year’s keynote speaker is Dr Pina Ford, with 16 years experience in developing religious education resources for churches and schools. She is passionate about faith formation and journeying with people who minister to children. There’ll also be electives for attendees to choose from, including topics such as reaching pre-teens, eco church, discipleship, teaching tips, using media, messy  church, parables, engaging children and families, plus more.

Uniting Generations, Uniting Church WA’s ministry with young people, is encouraging anyone involved in children and family ministry to attend.
