Book Launch: A Kimberley Collaboration

The book, A Kimberley Collaboration” The Story of the Boab Network 2008 – 2018, will be launched in Floreat, on Sunday 17 November with author Rev Dr Robert Hoskin from Melbourne and Boab Network members.

The book is a history of the Boab Network. This group of volunteers originated from All Saints Floreat Uniting Church, but now involves people from the wider community and other states who work together with the Mowanjum Aboriginal Community, near Derby in the West Kimberley.

Robert Hoskin has written this book with the help of many people, members of the Boab Network and the Mowanjum community, to explain and demonstrate how Australians might work together, even though we may come from radically different backgrounds and experience. The book includes stories and photos of the ten years of collaboration.

Copies of the book will be available for signing and purchase.

The launch event will include a short video of the recent Boab Network trip back to the remote original Presbyterian mission site at Kunmunya with elders who lived there as children. Some of the younger generations in the group were seeing their land for the first time, as were two of the descendants of the Rev JRB Love.

The event will be from 11.00 to 12.00 am on Sunday 17 November at All Saints Floreat Uniting Church, 50 Berkeley Crescent Floreat.
