Good Sammy temporarily closes 29 WA retail stores

Good Sammy has announced it will close it’s 29 WA stores due to Covid-19.

Good Sammy CEO, Melanie Kiely said it’s with a heavy heart that for the first time in their 62-year history, the organisation has had to make the tough decision to temporarily close its Good Sammy shops.

“We are working with our staff affected by this announcement to provide a range of benefits and options to help tide them over during this period. There will also be opportunities for redeployment into our essential services,” Melanie said.

“We will be working through all the options with each person individually to find the right solutions,” she added.

Good Sammy Enterprises has been invested in creating employment opportunities for people with a disability in Western Australia for 62 years.

“Our priority is to look after the health and safety of our staff and our community of loyal supporters and customers,” she said. “I want to reassure everyone that this is temporary. We will be open again in the future, when it is safe to do so”.

The Good Sammy processing centre, logistics operations, NDIS services and head office support will continue as an essential service at this time, to help clients, staff and supporters.

“I would like to thank our team for their hard work and dedication is such trying times. They have poured their heart and soul into everything they do. I am so proud to be part of an organisation that clearly demonstrates its values, particularly during these challenging times,” she added.
